The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria Q&As

IGN's LotRO Vault and Ten Ton Hammer have both kicked up new interviews with Turbine's Jeffrey Steefel about their new Mines of Moria expansion, the possibility porting The Lord of the Rings Online to consoles, and a lot more. A snip from LotRO Vault's interview:
So what can players expect and see in the long term future for LOTRO?

(30 billion players! (laughs) Honestly, we are going to move through the stages of maturity of the established IP we have. Talk of Tolkien has been revived again since the movies first launched. We see a lot of fansites, news mentions and the like about the world itself.)

What does Turbine plan to do once (The Hobbit) movie is released?

(The movie itself is going to be two movies, one released in 2011 and the other in 2012. Turbine has the license for The Hobbit that is included in our current license for The Lord of the Rings until 2014 which we then have an option to extend that until 2017, so sky is the limit with the game and with (The Hobbit) movie. As to what we are doing, I just cannot say.)

And a bit from Ten Ton Hammer's interview:
As far as game mechanics go, nothing is more intriguing than how the Turbine developers are going to handle the horsemasters of Rohan. With the Rohirrim making such a big splash in the Lord of the Rings movies, Turbine has no choice but to truly explore how they pursue horsemanship in a future Book or expansion. Not one to shy away from a question, I simply asked Steefel what they were going to do.

(Speculation, speculation, speculation!) Jeffrey said, laughing. (Here's what I'll say: One of the exciting things about getting to Moria and passing through the Misty Mountains is the fact that now we've moved on into the heart of Middle-earth and it gets increasingly exciting. There's just a LOT of stuff going on once you get past the Misty Mountains. Whether it's Rohan or Gondor or Isengard or Fangorn Forest, there's just all this stuff going on.)
