RPGDot Shutting Down

After what must have been about nine years of service, Lydias of RPGDot has made an announcement that suggests the website's days are numbered.
Whilst we have had great fun updating this website for the last couple of years the time has come to say goodbye.

We hope that you have all enjoyed the news and features posted over time and that we have kept you up to date with game news, issues and developments.

We wish you all the best for the future, and remember to visit Jolt for your daily news, features and discussion about all things gaming!
A quick history, as far as I can recall...

RPGDot went online in 1999 - several months before GameBanshee - and was ran independently by Rendelius back then. I recall seeing him around the GeekVillage forums on a regular basis as he and I were both looking for ways of bringing in revenue to stay online (server/bandwidth costs were high and the Internet advertising market was terrible back then). On April 22, 2004, he sold the site to Jolt Online Gaming, and much of its staff left within the next year or so to form RPGWatch. On June 18, 2008, OMAC Industries announced that they had acquired the Jolt Network. I can only assume that RPGDot wasn't part of the new company's future plans.

Farewell, fellow RPG website.
