Fallout 3 Week, Episode 3

Gameplayer continues their Fallout 3 Week feature with a seven-page feature containing several "factoids" about the franchise, faction profiles, and more. A sampling:
War. War Never Changes
If you're a big Fallout fan, this immortal line, spoken by Ron Perlman at the beginning of every game in the Fallout canon, will inevitably bring on shivers of excitement. If you're not a big Fallout fan then you might wonder why. We're not even sure ourselves, to be honest. There's just something about the way he says it that just perfectly encapsulates the game's pitch-black, ultra-bleak atmosphere. It reminds you that, while Fallout's sense of humour is laid on pretty thick, beneath it all is a game that paints a dark, but believable picture of human society.

Take My Wife. Please!
Grisham runs the slaughterhouse in Modoc. His son, Davin, and daughter, Miria, are both well up for a bit of nookie with you, but if Grisham catches you at it, he will insist on marriage. Miria or Davin will then become your spouse essentially a permanent companion. They're weak, unskilled and, at first, appear to be totally useless, but if you take them to The Hole in The Den or chance upon some randy trappers in the wilderness, you can pimp them out for a tidy profit. If you get really sick of them, just sell them into slavery.

What A Bloody Mess
There are a lot of different death animations in Fallout. Some of them are gory, while some of them are very, very gory. You normally only get the gory ones when you kill an enemy by doing excessive damage, but if you choose the Bloody Mess character perk you'll see the most violent, splatty demise possible, even if you do only just enough damage to make the kill. The funny thing is, unlike every other perk, Bloody Mess doesn't give you any kind of actual gameplay benefits at all. It's purely about enjoying the gore.
