Mass Effect: Bring Down the Sky Impressions

Like most of Mass Effect's worlds, the view from X57 is stunning. As you move across the surface in the Mako, you'll see black and red asteroid chunks tumbling through space overhead and the Earth-like planet of Terra Nova looming in the background.As does Team Xbox:
Completing Bring Down the Sky will net you 50 achievement points, paragon/renegade points, a deeper understanding of Human-Batarian relations and multiple weapons, pieces of armor and accessories along the way. We don't want to give anything away, but X57 isn't all about the shooting. As with other Mass Effect missions, you'll have an opportunity to talk your way out of a prickly situation en route to the final showdown.
For $5, Bring Down the Sky is a worthy addition to the Mass Effect experience. All told, we spent almost two hours with the mission, and it was a blast to revisit the galaxy we so sadly left behind after we finished the game. It's not revolutionary, but it adds more of the same type of content Mass Effect has become famous for.
The only downside to (Bring Down the Sky) is that, after completing it, it only makes us want even more. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until the next DLC is made available, but for now (Bring Down the Sky) is a great fix for our Mass Effect cravings. It should probably only take a skilled player an hour or so to complete, but there's always the chance to play through it differently each time through to see how Shepard's choices can affect the story's outcome. Even though this new content isn't too much of a stretch from many of the side missions we've already experienced, it is a welcome addition to the overall scope of the gameplay that brings more exploration, more combat and more character development. All of those aspects are reason enough to shell out 400 MS Points to get more from the Mass Effect galaxy. For those gamers who are more conscious of their MS Points and don't have many to spare, the "Bring Down the Sky" DLC is not a crucial aspect of the overall Mass Effect experience, but it is something that expands it. While it's certainly not something the casual player will miss, fans of the game will enjoy spending some more time diving deeper into the gameplay.
