Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Preview

GameSpy is the latest website to kick up a GDC-based preview of Ascaron Entertainment's Sacred 2: Fallen Angel.
Our GDC demo primarily focused on the Shadow Warrior class -- a melee fighter who, as his name implies, has been wholly consumed by the powerful energies coursing through his body. Some background: in Sacred's world, there's this stuff called "T-Energy," a lingering remnant of an ancient civilization long since passed, somewhere between Command & Conquer's Tiberium and Star Wars' The Force. If properly channeled, it can power all kinds of wondrous artifacts that enable an advanced civilization. But if allowed to run out of control, it mutates anything it comes into contact with -- cue giant rats, frenzied boars, skeleton warriors. Some of Sacred 2's classes -- like the Shadow Warrior -- intend to assert control of T-Energy. Others, like the iconic (as far as Sacred goes, anyway) Seraphim, want to ensure that it is properly channeled.
