EverQuest II Q&A

MPOGD had the opportunity to chat with EverQuest II community manager Craig Dalrymple about the current state of the MMORPG sequel and its recently launched winback program.
Q: What are the significant changes that have been brought in that would attract players, old and new, to EQ2?

A: For people who tried the game at launch but may have missed the last year or so of updates, there have been many changes. The Echose of Faydwer expansion from last November introduced an entire continent of content that would take a character from levels 1 thorough 70 (the current cap until the RoK expansion released). A new character could be made in the EoF areas and never visit the launch content for EQ2.

In the course of the Game Updates since I came to the team we have seen the introduction of new zones like the Estate of Unrest, and the Throne of New Tunaria, as well as the return of Neriak as a starting area and home city for EQ2 players. Going beyond those zones there have been many enhancements to the game such as a new Looking for Group tool, the ability for players to create, save, and swap between different graphical profiles (so you can switch between raid and vista settings, etc.), and a whole host of new features. The development team has really set a strong stride in their Game Updates and I'm proud to work with them.
