World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Previews

A handful of new World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King previews kick off the new week. The first is at Gamebunny:
As you might have gathered from the first official trailer and screens, the '˜WLK' expansion has a heavy Scandinavian/Viking vibe - at least in the lower level zones. Think ancient Greenland, Iceland, Norway, that kind of thing. Lots of snow, though not as much as you might expect (and tire of quickly), frozen tundra, thistle plants, pine trees and stone walls. You'll find wooden architecture sporting carved dragon motifs and festooned with shields.

The second is at Jolt Online Gaming:
What we do know is that in addition to new skills, talents and epic items will be the Inscription profession, which sounds like a Tattoo-based skill whereby players can enhance their own and other players' abilities and spells. Additionally players will be able to further customise their characters with new hairstyles and other as yet undisclosed alterations. So far, though, there has been no mention of any new races or classes, save for one the Death Knight.

The third is at RPGFan:
While the Burning Crusade's zones attempted to add World PvP into the mix, aside from the neutral city of Halaa in Nagrand and the Terrokar Towers, most of these objectives are left stagnant by players. Blizzard, rather than keep the status quo, is adding a non-instanced PvP zone to Northrend, known as Lake Wintergrasp. This zone is devoted entirely to World PvP, and even on Normal or RP servers will mark all players within its boundaries for PvP combat. This zone will incorporate one of the big additions to WoW's PvP combat: destructible buildings and siege weapons. Players will be able to use these new features not only in Lake Wintergrasp, but also in a new PvP battleground instance. On top of the new additions, players will also see new battleground rewards and a new Arena Season.

And the fourth is at MMOlecule:
There were two instances that we saw, Utguarde Keep, and Zul'aman. Utguarde is close to the Alliance drop-off point and is nestled inside a stunning dam holding back a large body of water. Zul'aman was a transport trip to the front of the instance in Eversong Woods via one of the Murlocs on hand for Blizzcon. Players couldn't get very far in either instance due to the mobs involved, but one determined set did manage to get one of the first dragons in Utguarde. It was somewhat reminiscent of the drakes in BWL.
