Windows Vista Performance and Compatibility Packs

Microsoft has released two separate updates for Windows Vista that will hopefully clear up some of the problems people are having getting older games to run on the new operating system.

The first is the "Performance and Reliability" pack, which speeds up the file copying process, fixes some video card support issues, takes care of some memory leaks, and more. The second (and more important) update is the "Compatibility and Reliability" pack, which apparently gets rid of the annoying "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error that plagues people trying to play the KotOR games (among others), corrects visual issues in graphics-intensive games, addresses lockups and restarts while playing video games, and more. Needless to say, I'm downloading both of these now.
