HoMM V: Tribes of the East Previews

Both 1Up and IGN PC have put together previews of Tribes of the East, Ubisoft and Nival's upcoming standalone expansion pack for Heroes of Might and Magic V. An excerpt from 1Up's article:
For those who have never played a Heroes of Might and Magic game before, Tribes of the East is a standalone title that includes five single-player levels lasting two to three hours apiece, 10 multiplayer maps, and a map editor. If you have Heroes V or Hammers of Fate, Tribes of the East will allow you to increase the level of your old characters by an extra ability point. It's not quite the same as adding brand new characters to the old games, but it's a nice bonus if you're attached to your previous armies. The in-game cut-scenes in Tribes of the East have also gotten a bit of an upgrade since Hammers, with new cinematic direction that portrays the story of the Orcish liberation as Braveheart with pointy ears.

And an excerpt from IGN's article:
Perhaps the last biggest addition is that of artifact sets. These special artifacts have been spread around the maps. If two or more of the same set are found, they can be combined to create additional and more powerful effects. This should provide an even bigger incentive to wander the environments to find all of the pieces.
