The Lord of the Rings Online Reviews

Turbine's The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar is the subject of four more enthusiastic reviews across the web. The first is at Gaming Age with an overall score of "B+":
All together Lord of the Rings Online makes for a fine multiplayer experience. Quest progression is fantastic, the presentation is top notch, and there's plenty of side stuff to distract you from the main game if you so choose. Combine that with a very solid launch that doesn't seem to be plagued by the problems a lot of launch MMO's have, and you'd be hard pressed not to pick this one up and try it out.

The second is at G4 with an overall score of 4/5:
LotRO is a certifiable hit, both commercially (which translates into a healthy playerbase), and in terms of its impact and quality. Its launch was technically sound, its production values are top-notch, and its focus on narrative is refreshing. Its effects on the genre may be a bit more muted than WoW's, but they're significant nonetheless. Hopefully, given its success, more publishers will follow suit.

The third is at Fragland with an overall score of 95.2%:
Forget World of Warcraft, the competition has arrived and overclasses completely. The fun innovations, smoother gameplay, better graphics and filmic feel makes this game a huge success. Buy it... that's all I have to say.

And the fourth is at Silicon Fusion with an overall score of 9/10:
Lord of the Rings Online is certainly worth more than a casual glance. It is such a well made tapestry of the world of Middle Earth and its denizens and creatures. If you want an MMO to try and start with LotRO is a good one to try and while the quest system may not appeal to everyone there are worse experience accumulation systems out there.
