Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground Previews

A trio of hands-on previews have surfaced for Xseed Games and Global A's dungeon-building PSP RPG, Dungeon Maker: Hunting Grounds. The first is at GameSpot:
Your time in Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground is divided up into days, and throughout the course of a single day, you're only permitted to visit your dungeon once. It's up to you to decide what you want to achieve while you're in your dungeon. For example, you might want to raise some cash by slaying any monsters that have moved in, you might want to complete a quest by retrieving an item for one of the townsfolk, or you might simply look to do some labyrinth improvements by dropping in additional corridors and rooms. You'll have only a handful of building blocks to choose from when you start creating your dungeon, but as you progress, you'll unlock lots more, as well as different "wallpapers" that you can apply to them.

The second is at IGN:
Your character starts out in town at his new home, looking forward to accomplishing his task. While the townspeople are initially hesitant, they'll quickly come around to your goal, providing you with quests that you can complete for special items. These villagers will also provide different services that you'll need to strengthen your character. For instance, the magic shop can provide you with spells that you can use within the walls of the dungeon to protect your character, attack monsters or manipulate your dungeon. The magic shop will also give you hints about what you might need to do if you find yourself confused about what to do next. Players can also equip new weapons or gear, or purchase potions to heal you during exploration of your dungeon.

And the third is at WorthPlaying:
As you create new and deeper levels of the dungeon, you'll come across or buy better weapons, armor and various other gadgets to increase your attack power. Although it sounds simple, combat has its various intricacies. Different combinations of light and strong attacks can unleash powerful combos, like a whirlwind that cuts everything nearby. Likewise, a bow can be used to strike from far away, but misjudging your attack can mean a swarm of angry kobolds in your face before you can blink.
