Nethergate: Resurrection Interview

RPG Vault was able to track down Spiderweb Software's Jeff Vogel for a three-page Q&A about their newly rewritten RPG, Nethergate: Resurrection.
Q: Will items play a significant role in Resurrection? Are you putting in a wide variety for players to find and use? What are some interesting or unusual ones?

A: There are hundreds of different items, including a huge range of magical goodies and a handful of very rare and powerful artifacts. I love making lots of treasures and putting them in.

There are also lots of interesting items tied to the times. For example, in the Roman forts, you can find strigils. These were curved pieces of metal used to scrape the skin. The Romans often bathed by covering themselves with oil and having a good scrape.

Finally, there are the Sylak items. The mad wizard Sylak created dozens or bizarre, funny artifacts that are hidden throughout Shadowvale... like Sylak's Exuberant Trash, Sylak's Thumpin' Shovel and the infamous Sylak's Talking Skull. Some are useful. Some are cool. And some are just weird.
