Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Interview

GameSpy has published a three-page interview with Encore creative director Hans-Arlo Wegner about Ascaron Entertainment's Sacred 2: Fallen Angel.
Q: Talk a bit about the light and dark side story paths. How are you making each satisfying while still fitting into your world's back story?

A: In Sacred 2, the player will have the choice of two different storylines -- "Light" and "Shadow." Both run parallel to each other but they have opposite perspectives -- the protagonist and the antagonist will be reversed. This means everything is happening in the same world and against the same background but with a different motivation and objective. The character could strive to bring peace and order back to Ancaria, or choose a more sinister path of ultimate power. Because the decision of one's path is right after the character selection, the impact of both paths on the player is intense right from the beginning.

The most obvious difference will be that both campaigns will have a completely unique main story. Side quests could also change depending on the side the character has chosen. In some cases whole factions could change their attitude towards the character. All the NPCs in the streets are aware of what the character does and will react accordingly.
