Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Q&A

UGO has conducted an interview with Activision's Matthew Paul, in which the producer addresses several questions about their upcoming superhero action RPG, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
Q: How much of X-Men Legends is in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance in terms of gameplay? What are some of the major differences, other than the cast of characters?

A: We used X-Men Legends technology to start development, but beyond that the gameplay has changed significantly. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is much more focused on action and combat. The combat system has been fully reworked, so now there are tons of new fighting moves like grappling, using weapons you find throughout the levels, fighting while airborne with flying characters, dodging and blocking, special button combinations for signature moves...you name it. Each superhero has their own specific set of super powers and special moves too, so a grab attack with Ghost Rider is totally different than the grab attack with Dr. Strange. Also, the costumes are more than just cosmetic and actually change the stats of each of your superheroes, and can be upgraded. The RPG elements are definitely all intact too, but this game really throws you into the thick of the action. I could go on and on, but I don't want to spoil the game for anybody.
