Tabula Rasa E3 Interview

Boomtown is offering up a short E3 interview with Destination Games' Richard Garriott about their upcoming sci-fi MMORPG, Tabula Rasa. A bit about character generation:
In Tabula Rasa you don't select a class when you're creating your character.

- It's a very bad concept that players have to select a class as soon as they start creating their characters. You normally don't know much about the game when you start out and the risk of making a wrong choice is big. In Tabula Rasa, if you aren't satisfied with your character choices you can always go back to your clone, explains Richard Garriott.

A clone basically works as a new character on the same server and it's a perfect copy of your original character as he or she was when you made the clone. They'll have different first names but share the surname so that other players can see they're the same player. The developers encourage making many clones and explore the vast number of skills by giving certain advantages to players with many characters.
