2K GAMES' "BIOSHOCK" WINS GAME OF SHOW AMONG IGN.COM'S BEST OF E3 2006 AWARDS
Microsoft's "Mass Effect," Nintendo's "Super Mario Galaxy" and EA's "Spore" Tie For Runner-Up
BRISBANE, Calif.-May 19, 2006-The editorial staff of IGN Entertainment's flagship website, IGN.com, have awarded the title of Game of Show to 2K Games' first-person action RPG "BioShock" in their Best of E3 2006 Awards. Microsoft's RPG "Mass Effect," Nintendo's latest platformer starring the company's iconic hero, "Super Mario Galaxy" and EA's evolution simulation "Spore" all tied for the runner-up position. Nintendo took many prizes also for its unusual Wii controller, winning the awards for Technological Excellence, Most Innovative Design and Best Hardware/Peripheral.
IGN.com blanketed E3 with an army of editors to review the hundreds of games on the show floor. In a tough evaluation process, the reporters narrowed down their top picks to honor this year. Overall winners were selected in both cross-platform and platform-specific categories.
