Hellgate: London Pre-E3 Previews

Both GameSpy and IGN PC have written up previews of Flagship Studios' Hellgate: London, based on what they saw of the RPG during a recent pre-E3 demonstration. A snip from GameSpy's article:
The Cabalist's abilities will fall into three different categories (skill trees, if you will). Firstly, they'll have abilities that will allow them to directly subjugate demons. These abilities will fall into the Summoning school, and for all intents and purposes, Cabalists that focus on these will resemble an MMO pet class. The second school focuses less on the demons themselves and more on channeling their raw power. It's called Evocation, and its applications will be a bit more in your face -- stuff like fireballs, lighting bolts, and all logical permutations thereof. The rub here is that Evocation specialists will need certain "focus" items to use their abilities. These foci will be technological devices fitted with bits of demonic matter -- think a virtual reality glove with a demon's eye stuck on it.

And a snip from IGN PC's article:
After passing through the short introduction to the gameplay mechanics and killing a few monsters to get hands dirty and minds set against demon foes, players will be set into one of the hubs of the Hellgate universe. These hubs are all part of the London Underground railway system that hasn't been fully infiltrated by the demons yet. These hubs are where most of the surviving humans live and plot to rid their planet of the invaders. It's also where most of the quests can be found.
