One of the biggest challenges in designing a game is documenting the design in detail, quickly enough that the art and tech teams always have something to work on that they will not have to change or redo later. Even with nine full-time designers, it's been difficult at times to get everything documented and approved by all the involved parties, while still building the game and making sure that the designs won't require a lot of re-work. In addition to working with the tech and art teams, design must also work with production to schedule all tasks and coordinate the design schedule with the other department's schedules.
