GameSpot is reporting that Midway Games has shut down its Australia and San Diego studios, the latter of which just finished up Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows. Something tells me J.E. Sawyer and John Romero are happy that they weren't involved with this departure:

In a move Scrooge would have approved of, Chicago-based Midway Games has shuttered its San Diego and Adelaide, Australia, studios, according to Adelaide's The Advertiser. The closures will send more than a hundred staffers packing just two weeks before the Christmas holidays.
