Former World of Warcraft Team Lead Speaks

Red 5 Studios' Mark Kern has written up a quick blog on Thinkwild detailing his beginnings in the game development industry, the years he spent at Blizzard Entertainment, and his plans for Red 5. A snippet:
So after two years, we closed shop, and I was the only one to take the offer to come work for Blizzard. I arrived during the last 6 months of Starcraft, which was in intense crunch mode. It was also an incredible experience. I also went on to work on a few internal prototype for projects, helped cancel Warcraft Adventures (sorry, folks), and even got to work on some shipping games like Starcraft, Starcraft: Broodwar, Starcraft 64, Diablo II and WoW. I had settled into a technical producer role and strike team leader. When WoW had an opening for team lead, I was asked to take on the job.
