Happy Thanksgiving!

First of all, I'd like to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving!

But with the forthcoming holidays, I can't help but wonder where all the RPGs are. The long winter is usually a bit more tolerable with a good role-playing game to play through, and with a long four-day weekend in front of me (no day job!), it would be great to spend at least a handful of hours with a new RPG.

Earlier this year, I would have thought that we'd be playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion around this time, but now the game could be delayed almost four months to March 2006. So what's left to choose from?

Not a whole lot, unfortunately, especially if you're not interested in a console title. Therefore, I've taken the opportunity to go back and pay attention to some of the CRPGs I may have missed over the last few years. The one game that really surprises me is Anachronox. I don't know how I overlooked this title when it was first released, but I'm really enjoying it now. If you can look beyond the Quake II engine, it is an exceptional party-based RPG from Ion Storm that reminds me of a cross between Deus Ex and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. In fact, it has impressed me enough that I'm planning on adding a subsite for it here on GameBanshee in the not-too-distant future.

So... what are you playing right now?
