Dragonshard Reviews

Two more gaming sites have kicked up reviews for Atari and Liquid Entertainment's RTS/RPG hybrid, Dragonshard. The first is at ComputerAndVideoGames with an overall score of 78/100:
There are only two resources in Dragonshard: gold and the eponymous dragonshards. These both slowly tick up as you play the game (so you'll never quite run out, a nice touch), but you get most from your troops gathering them as they wander the world (nearly every unit can gather). Dragonshards fall from the sky whenever you've exhausted the surface supply, though not always near you; it can be difficult to build up an army when all the resources are behind enemy lines. Gold, on the other hand, is found mainly in the abandoned cities of the underworld, necessitating expeditions of heroes and henchmen into the depths, infested with monsters and rewarding side-missions.

And the second is at GameZone with an overall score of 8.8/10:
Dragonshard has a great mix of solid gameplay, good features, and a beautiful world. Combining the best elements of the classic strategy genre games with elements from the RPG genre works very well for this title. The other innovative elements in Dragonshard's design will keep even the most jaded strategy gamer interested.
