X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse Wrap Report

Raven Software project lead Dan Vondrak has written up a four-page wrap report for X-Men Legends II on RPG Vault, in which he discusses the game's development and the post-release response it has received. Check it out:
Adding extra character powers to each hero. This made the build-up of heroes exciting. Now, people can actually argue about what their favorite powers are; they have a choice. It's so great to see people talk about the different ways they play these famous heroes. Our goal was to make sure your favorite character was well represented, and I think we accomplished that.

Good and evil teaming up. This affected the game in so many positive ways. First, it's great to be able to play as these villains. Who hasn't wanted to throw guys around with Magneto's magnetism or stomp through guys with Juggernaut? From a gameplay perspective, it is a great addition. Of course, the story benefited greatly from this match-up. Showing the tension between these two groups was fun. It also helped in picking the actual enemies of the game. We could break away from facing the same assortment of villains you are used to seeing; we were able to have Apocalypse build this awesome army of villains from all over the X-Men universe.
