Fable: The Lost Chapters Impressions

Warcry has published their initial impressions of Lionhead's Fable: The Lost Chapters, ultimately recommending the RPG if you never bought the original version on Xbox. Here's a bit of what they had to say:
Adapting the controls and interface of a title designed around a console controller to the vastly different keyboard and mouse layout is critical to a game's success. To do this, much of the interface has been redesigned, and an entirely new control scheme has been implemented. Unfortunately, I found the new interface to be more on the unwieldy side - even hours into the game I still wasn't completely comfortable with controlling my hero. To be clear, this isn't a case of a console interface on a PC, as was the case with Thief III - the game was originally intended to be played on a console, though, and from a gameplay perspective, I don't think the new interface works as well as a gamepad did with the original. Additionally, Fable does not support a gamepad; it's not even an option. We can hope that these issues are one of the things XNA will help with in the next generation of Windows games. Still, if you aren't familiar with the console title, you could get used to the interface given some time with it. The real key to the title is the content and gameplay.
