ActionTrip's State of MMO Gaming

ActionTrip has published a three page "State of MMO Gaming" article, in which they take a closer look at the bigger massively multiplayer titles we'll be seeing this year. Included on the list are Dungeons & Dragons Online, City of Villains, Auto Assault, The Lord of the Rings Online, and more. A snip about D&D Online:
Dungeons & Dragons Online takes place on the continent of Xen'drik in the world of Eberron, a new Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting created by Keith Baker and Wizards of the Coast. The character races planned for launch are humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, and warforged. The available core classes will be barbarian, bard, cleric, fighter, paladin, ranger, rogue, sorcerer, and wizard.

While the game will support solo play at lower levels, the core idea of course, are the party-based quests. So in many ways this will be a standard MMORPG with a monthly subscription fee that will follow closely the D&D rules and guidelines set by the folks from Wizards of the Coast.
