Guild Wars Reviews

The weekend brings us a couple more positive reviews for ArenaNet's subscription-free MMORPG, Guild Wars. The first is at PALGN with an overall score of 9.0/10:
Overall Guild Wars has stolen my social life and has become one of my favorite games. This game is very well crafted in mechanics, has good graphics, and decent sound. It defies its MMORPG family and goes off to do its own thing. Those who try to apply the same standards to this game as they do to a typical MMORPG will be confused or frustrated by how different things are. If you're looking for something new, this might just be it. It may be not perfect but the great thing is its always getting updated.

And the second is at ComputerGames.ro with an overall score of 95/100:
The bottom line is that Guild Wars is not a perfect game, although the producer's desire to bring it closer to perfection is obvious. Nevertheless, Guild Wars is certainly an innovative game, which has managed to attract a lot of players, some disappointed by the mediocrity of other online titles (MMORPGs even), other just looking to try out something new. The success of Guild Wars lays in the lack of a monthly fee as well as in its core principles and game mechanics. This has attracted an important number of casual players, which are very happy that they can play PvP without having to invest a lot of time into repetitive actions, focusing instead on learning and developing new tactics and strategies.
