Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade Interview

RPG Vault has conducted an interview with Sony Online's Rob Hill, in which the producer talks about their PSP action RPG launch title, Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade. Check it out:
Q: How does character development work? How extensive is the skill system, and are there many non-combat ones?

A: We have an extensive skill tree that is specific to each character class. Players can put 20 points into each of these skills to not only increase the power but also the function of the skill. When the player reaches level 50, they only have so many points that they can use to fill out the tree. This will allow them to either spread out the points or specialize in their favorite ones. What this means is that depending on how the player likes to play a specific class, they can end up quite different then another player of the same class.

We focused primarily on combat skills but there are some that summon pets and buff players. Some interesting differences are in the pet classes. Some pets are used directly in combat while others are meant to divert the monsters away from characters or simply keep creatures away from the character and group. We wanted to keep the skills as interesting as possible while working within the action role-playing game formula.
