EverQuest II E3 Report

GameSpy has released an E3 report for EverQuest II, in which they discuss the game's upcoming expansion pack and second adventure pack. A snip about Desert of Flames:
The arena is where the PvP elements that Desert of Flames will introduce will be most evident. Whether they're ported there forcibly by the Sha'ir, or walk in there voluntarily, they'll be able to engage in all manner of PvP events. The SOE rep we spoke to today mentioned that the events available will resemble the sorts of modes common in first-person shooters -- stuff like capture the flag, hold the line, and the like. On top of that, players will have the option of morphing into different kinds of monsters while in the confines of the arena. SOE wasn't too clear on how this would work, precisely but the video we were shown showcased some pretty wild metamorphoses. One gnome turned from a mallard, to a stone elemental, to a troglodyte in the span of 30 seconds. However it ends up panning out, we were assured that there would be a substantial rewards system in place that would grant some nice perks to high-ranking players. A dueling will also be implemented when Desert of Flames launches, which will allow players to engage in consensual one on one battles for bragging rights.
