Yahoo! News is reporting that Microsoft's upcoming Xbox 360 will be backward-compatible with many "top-selling games" on the original Xbox. While they don't specifically state which games will work on the new console, one can only hope popular games like Fable, Morrowind, and the Star Wars: KotOR franchise will be supported. A snip:

Microsoft, which has made online gaming a key part of its Xbox strategy, also said it hopes the Xbox Live service will reach 2 million connected users by the end of June.

"Our goal is to be number one in the (gaming) marketplace," Microsoft's Bach told Reuters.

Although the Xbox 360 will be backward-compatible, Bach said that it won't necessarily run all of the older Xbox titles but instead run the top-selling games.
