Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich Interviews

Irrational Games' Ken Levine has been very busy lately, answering sets of questions about Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich for both GameShark and The Armchair Empire. Here's a snip from GameShark's interview:
Q: Roughly how many new powers have been added to the game that players can use in their own creations?

A: Too many to count. All the new characters have 8-10 brand new powers. We also went through the game and sprinkled new powers to the returning characters and went nuts reworking the effects. It's going to take a while just to sort through all the new powers.

And a snip from The Armchair Empire's interview:
Q: Why is it that most (Game of the Year) nominees and winners come out of the 4th Quarter? The fact that Freedom Force vs. The 3rd Reich is being released in Q1 hurt its chances of being a Game of the Year pick?

A: I'm not convinced that's true. Certainly it was the case this past year, but there are usually a good number of amazing games that come out during the rest of the year. Thankfully, I think publishers are finally starting to realize that people don't buy games exclusively during the holiday season. I really don't think the release date will affect its chances of being considered GotY. The original Freedom Force was also released in March and that didn't keep it from picking up some huge awards.
