The Bard's Tale Review

The guys at 3DAvenue and Gamebiz brin us the most recent reviews of inXile's action RPG remake, The Bard's Tale. 3DAvenue gave the game an overall score of 75/100:
The Bard's Tale is a game that has been updated but feels like it's still living in the past. Just why multiplayer was left out really will be never known, but it is a mistake that Brian Fargo, a reknowned game developer, should not have made. The single player is decent while it lasts (about 10 hours) but compared to a lot of RPG's and even the game the engine is from, it comes up quite lacking in many areas but remains a moderately decent game.

And Gamebiz gave the game an overall score of 80%:
The aid ale is as fresh and innovative as it was back in 1985 when Interplay released it. The Bard's Tale is an entertaining game with an exceptional well written if not slightly mocking dialogue and storyline.

While the melee fighting is undoubtedly excellent the magic element is the combats greatest strength. The variety of summons made the battles decent enough for the most part

The game play can be a bit lacking but was enough to keep me playing for the 20 hours it took to finish. IF you want to play a great adventure game that will keep you laughing long after you finish playing then I recommend checking it out.
