EverQuest II Reviews

Sony's EverQuest sequel continues to be the subject of reviews around the web, with two more appearing over the past week. The first is at MMORPG.com with an overall score of 7.9/10:
Regardless, EQII will not be the worldwide sensation that EverQuest was. It's doubtful that any game will be able to duplicate that feat, but it's even tougher on one that bears the original's name. The success of EQ has given EverQuest II a huge headstart, but EQII must now captivate players on its own. That may not be as easy as many think. Only time will tell, and the ultimate judges will be the MMORPG playing population. It is they who will decide whether following the most wildly successful game in the genre's history is a blessing or a curse.

And the second is at WomenGamers with an overall score of 9.2/10:
SOE have really tried with the release of EverQuest 2. After the debacle of Star Wars Galaxies, Sony has seemingly learned their lesson. EverQuest 2 is very newbie friendly, and very absorbing. The ability to be any combination of any race and class (with no real "Dud" combinations) states its intentions plainly. Character creation even excludes the ability to see your stats - something that is frankly long overdue. If you want to be a troll cleric, you can be with no badly conceived penalties for doing so. About time too.
