The Bard's Tale Reviews

inXile's The Bard's Tale is the subject of two more reviews on the 'net, and they're both fairly positive. The first is at The Entertainment Depot with an overall score of 9/10:
An argument could perhaps be made that the game's mechanics or graphics might be a bit dated in light of its competition. However, InXile has focused on that which many other games tend to overlook, in that the overall experience can often outweigh the individual weaknesses that might otherwise detract from the title. All in all, The Bard's Tale is an experience that no true RPG fan should miss and is one that won't soon be forgotten.

And the second is at Game Critics with an overall score of 7/10:
Serious combat issues aside, The Bard's Tale still does more things right than wrong. It's refreshing to see a game that finally spoofs other games and the cliché-ridden RPG genre has certainly been ripe for a skewering for at least a decade. Humor is this game's selling point not battle systems or graphics or game engines and gamers who value a smart and entertaining tale well told will certainly be able to look past the game's other problems.
