Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed Review

GameSpy has dished up their review of Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed, giving the space expansion an overall score of 3.5/5. Here's why:
Without a doubt, Jump to Lightspeed makes Galaxies feel much more like a Star Wars game that it ever has before. In fact, if you consider it as its own product, JtL feels more quintessentially Star Wars than Galaxies does. As a whole, the expansion meshes quite nicely with that foundation established by the original game, despite it being fundamentally different. I'm personally a little disappointed by how it needlessly adheres to some of the more aggravating conventions of the genre -- i.e., the necessity to "grind," and emphasis on equipment over skill -- but at least when it comes to players who have been playing Galaxies consistently, the new content in here will be much welcome. New players who are interested in the game due to the inclusion of space elements, however, get a more reserved recommendation: make sure you like the on-planet content enough to play it a lot, 'cause in order to really succeed in space, you're going to need acquire resources in a more traditional way.
