World of Warcraft Open Beta Impressions

The guys at Groovalicious Games have fired up some impressions of the World of Warcraft open beta test. Here's a taste:
The one thing that World of Warcraft definitely gets right, and this has been a hallmark of all Blizzard games, at least for me, is the addictive quality. It's just so difficult to stop playing. You are perpetually on the verge of achieving something, be it gaining your next level, finishing a quest, having enough money to buy that shiny new mallet, or getting to the next level in your profession of choice. You may have multiple quests running at the same time, progressing each one incrementally until you can return to town with three completed quests so you can get the rewards, but then you need to visit the vendors and get rid of loot, but then you see a new weapon that looks really cool, and then you go to the trainer and find you can learn a new skill, so they you really need to head back out into the field to see how your new gear works, and this goes on and on and on. What looks to be a simple quest may turn out to be something far more involved or difficult, so then you're stuck out there and need to get back to town before you quit, but that may take a while, so you just keep playing and playing and playing. Before you know it, four hours are gone and you need to get up for work in just a few more. This has gone on for about a week now, and I'm just exhausted and constantly on the verge of a headache from it, but I can't wait to play some more.
