Every ship in the game also has hyperspace capability. Though it's not exactly in keeping with the franchise, it allows all players to move around wherever they want. You can hyperspace between any system in the game at any time. Each system also has four space areas associated with it and you can choose which area you travel to when you're hyperspacing. Once you start a hyperspace jump, a countdown starts while the ship's computer calculates the right path. Currently there's currently no way to cancel your hyperspace jump once it's started. Hopefully this feature will be added before launch.
