Four More Fable Reviews

Four more reviews of Big Blue Box and Lionhead's Fable have been posted to the 'net over the past couple of days. The first is at Game Chronicles Magazine with an overall score of 9.0/10:
Fable delivers a one of a kind experience, of that there is no doubt. It's gorgeous, fun, and engaging so it's well worth the look. In fact, it will probably become an addiction for a week or two for you. Just don't be surprised if it falls short of your own expectations.

The second is at The New Zealand Herald with an overall score of 4/5:
Unlike the more story-driven RPGs, Fable feels as if it was designed to be played over and over. While some of the most ambitious ideas have fallen by the wayside, the many features that Molyneux's team were able to pull off are impressive. Fable isn't the greatest role-playing adventure ever, but the final product is an extraordinarily beautiful and engaging action RPG that any Xbox owner will be pleased to have in their collection.

The third is at GameBiz with an overall score of 91%:
The music, battling, and overall experience of Fable will leave any hardcore RPG fan begging for more. Although Fable is more linear than one may have hoped, and the small areas get quite annoying when traveling to secluded parts of the game, it is still a gorgeous game with a lot jammed into it. Perhaps if the game was released a year ago it may have captured more hearts, but unfortunately the average gamer is too hyped up for Halo 2 to worry about an RPG. This puts Fable in a dilemma, because it is an RPG so it can't really be hired. By all means, purchase Fable right now as it's a once in a lifetime type of game, but if it's not your type then simply sell it and find something more action packed.

And the fourth is at PALGN Xbox with an overall score of 8.5/10:
Despite the length or lack thereof the game's linear feel and the button bashing combat system, Fable is still a fantastic game. The ability to shape your own character as well as become loved/feared throughout the world is too good an opportunity to pass up. Whilst not quite the game it was built up to be, Fable is still more than worthy of your time. Action RPG fans dig in.
