It is not only a brave new world, but a good looking one. This expansion is all about bragging about and showing off the graphics engine and boy do they have something to brag about. For a game that is five years old and with a proprietary engine, there has been several updates in the past, one of the largest was done for the Kunark Expansion, which had many players not loading up the new textures. However, I am pleased to report that this one is less CPU and graphics card intensive. It is lean and mean, if you keep options off (which is the default).
These are strange discordant lands and the Priest of Discord controls the entry, creating portals to send players through to the new lands. Being as this is a continuation of Morden Rasp and the Wayfarer Brotherhood's story, mobs from such as Nocs and Kyv archers from the Gates of Discord expansion are present in some zones.
