SWG: Jump to Lightspeed Developer Diary #2

GameSpy's second Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed developer diary provides an in-depth look at the expansion's sound & music from audio lead Todd Davis. A snippet:
To give you some insight to a typical workday, my tasks included designing sound sets for all of the ships, armament, weapons, vehicles, fighting, weather, and all the other extraneous things that make up the Star Wars galaxy. During the process of game development I interface with Cinco Barnes and Julio Torres. With the support from these two guys, I can be sure that audio needs are covered from many angles. As with many things in the Star Wars continuity, there are often a lot of background that need researching before any sound is created. First consultation is, of course, with the Star Wars movies. For hardware that appears in the movies, this is fairly straightforward. But, more often than not, the items needing sound are either found in the expanded universe or they are completely new additions to the Star Wars canon, such as the AV-21 Landspeeder.
