The first game was a stunning commercial and critical success, thus it came as no surprise that a sequel was in the works almost from the moment the last game hit store shelves. What was a surprise, though, was that Bioware themselves wouldn't be working on the game. Instead, the development chores would be going to Obsidian Entertainment, a collection of Interplay/Black Isle refugees headed by Feargus Urqhardt. While the lack of involvement from Bioware is a bit disappointing, that's more than made up for by an Obsidian team that's collectively responsible for such classic RPGs as Fallout 2 and Planescape: Torment. In fact, any reservations gamers might have had were washed away when we previewed the title at the recent E3 show.
