There are ten planned zones for the expansion, one for each planet. You reach space by taking off from a starport, Besteen for Tatooine for instance. The higher level zones are around the higher level planets like Lok, Dantooine and Endor. They'll each have different characters as well. The Empire's recent defeat around Yavin will be apparent in the missions and encounters you have there, while the space around Lok will be overrun by Nim's pirates and their strange-bedfellows the Rebels. But it's not just planets and other players in space. Seemingly endless asteroid fields make great locations for games of hide and seek with your enemies while strange nebulae (complete with flaming gasses and large arcs of electricity) have odd effects on your ship, slowing movement or increasing weapon recharge for instance.
