Guild Wars Previews

Two more previews of ArenaNet's Guild Wars have surfaced on the internet. The first is at LoadedInc, which is based on what was seen at E3:
If you've played the game or seen the shots then you'll know that graphically this game is pretty impressive. The impressive lighting effects on armour, the diverse array of spell effects and highly detailed landscape are areas where Guild Wars shines. Having followed the game for a while, and having had the pleasure of checking out early builds, it's phenomenal how the game has progressed, even in the space of four months or so. Development seems to be continuing at a rapid pace with many tweaks already having been added since E3 including improved movement, improved camera control and a new first person view. A week before the E3 event tabards were added to the characters and if you've seen them in-game you can't help but be impressed. For some reason cloaks and tabards are features many a 3D RPG developer has been shying away from for various reasons so it shows there are some skilled people behind Guild Wars determined to push for the cool features we expect from RPGs.

The other is at Girl-Gamer:
Final thoughts? If you're interested in fast paced RPG action I think this game is definately one you'll want to keep an eye on. It has lots of features which I'm sure will set it apart from other MMORPG's. We'll keep you updated on the progression of this game. At the moment the game is in closed testing and there is no time set for beta testing as yet, however the game is expected to be released later this year. We'll keep you updated when beta sign ups begin!
