Ultima X: Odyssey Updated Info

Jon "Calandryll" Hanna stopped by our forums again to post about some new information available on the Ultima X: Odyssey website and to elaborate on the new screenshots. A snippet:
-As you can see, we now have two-handed weapon animations in. So you can wield two-handed swords, pole-arms, and two-handed hammers, axes, etc. You get different animations for your standard attacks based on your weapon. The categories are:

-one handed melee (all 1H weapons, with or without shield)
-two handed light melee (2H swords)
-two handed heavy melee (2H axes, hammers, etc.)
-two handed pole-arm melee (2H halberds, spears, etc.)
-two handed staff (magic staves - these are ranged attacks)
-two handed bow (bows - also ranged)
-dual wield (not implemented yet)

Each attack category has three low attacks, three medium attacks, and three high attacks. The attack chosen depends on your character's height compared to your target's height. When you click to swing, the system chooses one of the three attacks for the correct height randomly. The attacks range from a simple swing to very intricate twirls, jumps, etc. Each attack category also has a unique combat idle, defense stance, and "get-hit" (for when you get hit) animation. And again, these are the just for the standard attacks! [smile]
