Deus Ex: Invisible War Interview

UGO has conducted an interview with Ion Storm's Warren Spector, asking the developer a slew of questions about the soon-to-be-released Deus Ex: Invisible War. Check it out:
Q: Do you think gamers - particularly, console gamers who haven't experienced a lot of this kind of thing before - will have trouble adjusting to the idea of a first-person game as deep and character-building-driven as Invisible War is aiming to be?

A: I've always thought the core concept behind Deus Ex was the most accessible, mass-market concept imaginable. I mean, what could be more straightforward than "Solve problems however you want?" So, no, I don't think console gamers will have trouble with the basic idea. Until recently, I might have said that first-person would be an issue but games like Golden Eye and Halo have shown pretty conclusively that console players don't mind a first-person view of the world, if it's well-implemented. And who doesn't love a good story? I think console gamers are going to get Invisible War just fine.
