GameSpy's Most Underrated Games of All Time #24

GameSpy's "Most Underrated Games of All Time" feature has begun, with Sir-Tech's Wizardry 8 coming in at #24. A snippet:
It wasn't until the late '90s that real info on a Wizardry sequel began to emerge. Key developers of Crusaders regrouped into Sir-tech Canada, and built a new 3D engine to support their vision of a Wizardry 8. The game looked promising, but development was slow, and the projected release date kept slipping. Finally, with the game almost complete, Sir-tech ran into what would prove to be a fatal problem: It could not find a publisher. Was the game too hardcore or old-fashioned for the modern PC RPG player?
