The Races of Horizons

IGN PC is offering up a new article that contains both an interview with Artifact's David Bowman and several profile pages that detail the many different races available in the upcoming MMORPG, Horizons. Here's an excerpt from the interview:
Q: Tell us a bit about the way the races have interacted throughout history. What are the starting alliances and animosities between the various races?

A: There is an extensive history that I'll briefly summarize with most of the races have not historically coexisted peacefully. It wasn't until the Withered Aegis threatened the survival of all of the races that they were able to form an uneasy alliance that permits sufficient cooperation to battle with the Undead under the control of the Withered Aegis. At the game's start, the Living Races have formed a central government of sorts, functioning much like a fledgling empire would. The empire garners its power through the need of cooperation amongst its member races, but the Empire of Istaria has many things working against it, making its future unclear. First, it is not set in stone how the Living Races will fare against the Withered Aegis; in times past, it seemed as though the Living Races' demise was certain, and even though this is no longer the case with their victory at the Battle of Tazoon some years previous, the struggle that lies ahead for them will be epic in proportion. Also, just because the races are cooperating together does not mean that their individual agendas are on hold. Only time and the players themselves will tell if the races will be able to hold on to their new empire and unity, or if the past will once again play a role in their future.
