Divine Divinity Preview

A preview of Larian Studios' upcoming Divine Divinity can be found over at GameSpy. If you're not too familiar with this upcoming RPG, the preview is a good read, as it explains in detail just how the game plays out compared to other popular titles like Baldur's Gate II and Diablo. Here's a snippet:
One of the more innovative features of Divine Divinity involves NPC conversation. Not only can you take a break to trade at any time, but as long as it isn't essential to the main plot, you can quit the conversation when it starts to bore you. This allows you to play through ignoring the sub-quests at your leisure and playing a more hack-and-slash role. You will obviously get more classic role-playing out of it if you do read all the conversations, but Larian Studios have noticed that for some players who enjoy games like Diablo, the main point of the quest is all about the killing, and less about the intricate story, detailed dialogue, and ingenious puzzles.
