Anarchy Online Review

JC Smith of GameZNet let us know that they've posted a not-so-positive review of Funcom's recently released MMORPG, Anarchy Online. Here's a taste:

Graphically though, Anarchy Online is a gem, though the actual graphics engine is nothing revolutionary. The level of detail management appears sub-standard, the clip plane hides large numbers of polygons, and the game has slowdown problems in many locations. The frame rate is not consistent but fluctuates dramatically from place to place. When zoning in to a new location you will sometimes see the locations being drawn one by one. The actual locations, however are creatively done. You gain a sense of exploration when going from place to place. That coupled with the detailed item and NPC histories and backgrounds and Anarchy Online can be an interesting tour for a new player. If you purchased the game to be used as a coaster or a frisbee you will at least gain a nice graphical tour in the first month of free game play.
