PoR E3 Article

Wizards of the Coast has posted another article written by Chuck Yager, Associate Producer of Ubi-Soft's upcoming Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. This time, the article is concerning this year's E3, detailing Chuck's personal experiences at the expo:

I was pleasantly enticed by many of the other RPGs that I saw coming out soon. However, I kept coming back to Pool with a renewed sense of excitement after each small break; it represented another chance to show off the game to new folks who all seemed to have played the old Gold Box games and remembered a time when turn-based RPGs were the standard. Don't get me wrong -- I think real-time-based games in the RPG market are a nice change of pace that really capture the tension of the moment, but I myself find the strategy and tool set of turn-based games closer to the original pen & paper D&D experience. From the people I spoke to at E3 it seems I'm not alone, and I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to present to such fans a new look at a classic-type RPG game.
