TORN Preview

Listen up! There's a new 3-page preview of the mighty Fallout-esque RPG set in a fantasy world and using the Lithtech 3D rendering engine by Black Isle Studios, TORN. It's written by Gamesmania and expresses itself in this flavor:

The S.P.E.C.I.A.L. rules have been tweaked slightly to reflect the swords and sorcery (as opposed to post apocalyptic) theme. Four different spheres of magic have been introduced, as have new perks and traits. The examples Black Isle cites are Pyromancer--a mage specializing in fire, and Lone Wolf, a character who receives bonuses when traveling alone. You can travel with a party or without, and the game will support multiplayer, with up to six players. Although the setting is different, they're still going to take the same approach as Fallout--the game will be nonlinear with all sorts of quests related and unrelated to the main story thread, and any kind of character can progress through the game, such as a diplomat, sorcerer, idiot, etc.

Another winner by Black Isle.
